Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, Arizona Snowbowl is just 7 miles outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon. The resort opened in 1938 and is one of the oldest continually operated ski area in the country.

Our Ski & Ride School employs professional instructors to teach your family how to ski and ride on the largest learning area in the Southwest. The slopes range from beginner to intermediate to advanced, making this place ideal for everyone in the family! Lodging is offered in the Ski Lift Lodge & Cabins located at the base of Snowbowl Road. The resort is conveniently located minutes from vibrant and historic downtown Flagstaff.

Snowbowl is located on an extinct volcano

A rare species of flowering plant in the aster family known by the common name San Francisco Peaks groundsel, or San Francisco Peaks ragwort is known to grow nowhere else on the planet but on the San Francisco Peaks
